Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF)
Patient Condition
The patient sought medical treatment for progressive shortness of breath and dry cough for 1.5 years and had a history of smoking (20 pack-years). HRCT showed honeycomb lungs and grid shadows in both lungs. Lung function: FVC 54% predicted, DLCO 38% predicted. 6MWD 290m, mMRC score 3. IPF was diagnosed (GAP score 5, stage II).
