Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF)
Patient Condition
The patient was treated for progressive shortness of breath and dry cough for 1 year, and was exposed to metal dust in the past. HRCT showed diffuse honeycomb and lattice shadows in both lungs, and traction bronchiectasis. Lung function: FVC 55% predicted, DLCO 38% predicted. 6MWD 300m, mMRC score 3. Multidisciplinary discussions were conducted to diagnose IPF and rule out occupational lung disease.

Treatment Outcome
| before | FVC accounted for 55% of predicted value, DLCO accounted for 38% of predicted value, 6MWD 300m, mMRC score 3 |
|---|---|
| after | After 24 months of treatment, FVC accounted for 49% of predicted value (approximately 3% annual decline), DLCO accounted for 33% of predicted value, 6MWD was 325m (improvement of 25m), and mMRC score dropped to level 2 |
| highlight | Nitrib combined with systemic lung rehabilitation training not only delayed the decline of lung function, but also improved 6MWD by 25 meters, and the mMRC score dropped from level 3 to level 2. |
