Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
Patient Condition
The patient developed bulbar symptoms (dysarthria, dysphagia) at the age of 58, and was diagnosed with ALS (bulbar onset) at the age of 59. At the time of diagnosis, ALSFRS-R was 30, FVC was 68%, and swallowing function was impaired. Progress is rapid (monthly decrease of 1.3 points). Enrolled into the neural stem cell (NSC) phase I/II trial.
