Patient Condition
The patient developed dysarthria and dysphagia at the age of 61, and was diagnosed with ALS (bulbar onset type) at the age of 62. At the time of diagnosis, ALSFRS-R was 32, FVC was 75%, and swallowing function was impaired (abnormal drinking water test). The prognosis of bulbar onset type is poor and the progress rate is rapid (monthly drop of 1.2 points).
