HF-016

Heart Failure (HF)

North America 55 years old male US Total Cost: 683

Patient Condition

The 48-year-old patient was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy and progressed to end-stage heart failure (HFrEF, LVEF 18%) after medical treatment. NYHA heart function class IV, hospitalized for repeated heart failure (6 hospitalizations in the past 12 months). The drug regimen has been optimized (ARNI+ spironolactone + carvedilol + SGLT2i) but continues to deteriorate. At the time of diagnosis, NT-proBNP was 8800 pg/mL and BNP was 2400 pg/mL. Cardiac MRI showed left ventricular end-diastolic inner diameter of 78mm, mild mitral regurgitation, and peak value VO2 in cardiopulmonary exercise test was 12 mL/kg/min.

Treatment Timeline

PhaseDetailsDate
Stem cell therapy evaluation and enrollment
Intracardiac injection of MSC stem cells
Maintenance follow-up and functional assessment

Treatment Outcome

beforeLVEF 18%, NYHA class IV, 6 hospitalizations per year, VO2 12 mL/kg/min, requiring heart transplant
afterLVEF 36%, NYHA class II, VO2 18 mL/kg/min, removed from transplant waiting list, returned to work
highlightIntracardiac injection of MSC stem cells doubles LVEF, and patients with end-stage heart failure are successfully removed from the waiting list for heart transplantation
