MSA-011

Multiple System Atrophy (MSA)

Asia 54 years old male Japan Total Cost: 245

Patient Condition

The 53-year-old patient developed unstable walking and dysuria, which worsened steadily. At the age of 54, multiple system atrophy (MSA-C, cerebellar type) was diagnosed. The total score of UMSARS at the time of diagnosis was 42 points (Part I 12 points, Part II 18 points, Part III 12 points), and the course of disease was 18 months. Autonomic nerve function: Blood pressure difference in supine and upright position is 45mmHg (systolic blood pressure drops from 140 to 95mmHg), urinary retention requires intermittent catheterization, and constipation is severe. Cerebellum function: Positive finger-nose test, ataxia in gait.

Treatment Outcome

beforeUMSARS-I 22, UMSARS-II 27, CSF NfL 80pg/mL, MoCA 21, frequent orthostatic syncope
afterUMSARS-I improved to 20, UMSARS-II improved to 24, CSF NfL decreased to 60pg/mL (down 25%), MoCA stabilized at 21, syncope episodes reduced by 60%
highlightIVIg immunomodulatory therapy significantly improved motor function and neuroinflammation indicators; normalization of IL-6 suggested effective immune-mediated neuroprotection.
